POTENTIAL OWNER

I dallied and now the Rocket has been killed off. However, a 2015 X has come up with only 6,000 km on it. He wants way too much for it. There can't be too many people in Portugal who want one. I'm going to monitor his demands. It is a characteristic of the Portuguese that they ask far too much for anything, be it motorbikes, cars or apartments/houses.

I have a 2016 Roadster. Ive owned many bikes, worked on many diferent brands.

Triumph builds machines. Sometimes they break, just like every manufacturer of any machine. All in all there have been reported issues, well documented here. However, you will see thru the model years there have been product improvement. Again, like nearly any manufacturer nothing is perfect, but in my opinion Triumph builds a pretty well put together bike.

What you DONT read is the thousands who never have a problem. Best of luck in your purchase! Just ride!

Do they all poder a purchase for over two years as well?

As has been written, most of my issues were caused by me. The only two things wrong were a bad Detent Spring at 20,000 miles. 2nd, was a bad ignition wire at 25,000 miles. Far less problems than the Harley's I've owned and Honda's I've broke.

I wondered about Lucas after I posted the above. Sounds like Triumph's electrics have the same problem as Buell's; the design. It doesn't fill me with confidence.
I have 2 Rockets a 2009 and 2012 no problems at all in 40,000 miles better bikes than the BUELL no comparison

I can understand people wondering why I have taken so long, given my post from 2016. My situation temporarily changed [difficult to explain], but now I am in a position to buy one. However, the one I'm interested in is way overpriced. I am negotiating.

Good to hear, Chip, but why do you have two Rockets?
I am sorry for the miss representation. I only have one (1) Rocket. A R3T, 2008. Best bike I have ever owned. 2 problems, a bad detent Spring, and a bad connection on the ignition switch.

I DO plan on purchasing another touring model. 2015 and very low miles. Hopefully at the end of the 2019 riding summer.

Yes back in 2006 then across the border in spain to alcaidesa. I commute over the frontier every day as I work in the dockyard.
I run a Africa twin in the ****ty weather and the Rocket on better days.

I have a place in Estepona, and lots of family in Gib, and have ridden down the last two years (am doing so again this year) great part of the world
