Potential new R3T owner

G'day and welcome. All the issues were well sorted by 2015. I have a 2006 and have over 200,000 kilometres on it - and am looking forward to the next 100,000.

Welcome from PEI, go for it. The only draw back I have found with the "T" is the weight when backing up. Park wisely & a driver's backrest will help with that. I put 122000K on my 05 Standard before buying the Touring. Really no other bike compares. Good luck.

Bought a 2015 ROCKET X (no 74) in Oct of 2015. Live in Oklahoma and bought the bike in Dallas. The ride home was interesting to say the least. Just the size and power as compared to my Harley Fatboy was a bit to get used to at first. Now at 17,000 miles I have learned how to really ride the bike. Other than the weak headlights which has been replaced, the bike is by far the best I have ever owned. Would I buy the bike today? In a heart beat. Not a lot of miles yet but we have had no problems with the bike at all.:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

As a 9 year standard Rocket owner I plan to keep it forever and have it become a burden to my children when I'm gone. That said, all the bikes you mention are good bikes. Fun can be had on all of them. For power/weight sake between Rocket and TBird, go Rocket. TBird is nice, but for about the same price/weight the Rocket gives a lot more performance and handling. BTW: I'd go with a Standard or Roadster and dress it up like a touring bike. I prefer the Standard/Roadster to the Touring model due to the gauges, tires and wheels. Between Rocket and Trophy, well thats a little different. Trophy is really nice with all the real touring gizmos. If you plan to do heavy duty touring you should definitely give the Trophy a good long test ride. If you just want a bad ass bike that can do it all, go with the Rocket. Any Rocket that floats your boat.

Thank you all for the replies. I've heard plenty of good stuff about the Rocket and nothing negative enough to keep away from it (transmission issues, overheating, that sort of thing) as i do intend this to be a bike I'm going to own for the long run. I'll be contacting my sales guy today to hopefully seal the deal.
Thanks again.
