Ponters RIIIR could be yours

Sounds like a fast bike. Mine is just a noisy sleeper that plods along economically but has enough power to accelerate away from trouble only when needed for safety.

Wish I had it yesterday...6 incidents on the freeway going home, one of which found me on a 6" strip of roadway trying to get away from some dumb b!tch on a cell phone :mad::mad:

Yeah, that wouldn't be a bad idea. Girls just can't see the positives in numbers like 0-100 km/h in 1.85 secs, 80-270 km/h in 6 secs and top speed of 347 km/h. You need to use words like comfortable, safe and practical.
So who's ride has those numbers?

Gearing will certainly allow it if you spin the engine over 7k.

Question would be drag, of which we all have plenty, and balls which well that depends :)

I would certainly not take a bike with the front end geometry of the Rocket that high, other might :)

Considering the Carp bike did I think 176 on salt, I would suspect ~200 is quite possible with Ponters bike on a road surface, over 200, duno depends on power and wind that day :)

If you look at land speed records, the flats tend to be slower than hardball surfaces. The S1000RR that did 197 at the flats had a different air filter, tune, full disassembled engine that was perfectly balanced and all bearings clearanced, and it had some streamlining work done inlcuding all new fairings and weight reduction. Meanwhile, in germany, there is a 100% stock S1000RR that took the mirrors off, no other changes and recorded 202mph on pavement....

YOU cant compare running on the Salt flats its so slippery we had to run less than half throttle and it was still just spinning and throwing up a Roostertail of salt hiting the rev limiter in 5th gear @ 9200 rpm BUT we know we can run 8second !/4 mile times @160 mph BUT we havnt seen anyone else make any good 1/4 mile runs so ??? TOP SPEED on asphalt ??

Oh I agree, that's what I was getting at, its harder to run on salt and you guys still put up a killer number.
