Pic of Triple K&N's Under Bearclaw

Took the bear claw of to mark it up for cutting - pretty much the same cut that Evil Mitch did with his. I also removed the K&N pre-filter covers (just because they look better without) and went for a shortish but fast run to see if I could notice any diference.

Noticed two things: firstly, it didn't seem too much louder - nice growl if anything; and secondly it had noticably more oomph and felt like it was pulling smoother and easier from low revs. I'm not sure if it's the claw or the pre-filters that made the difference but I'm glad I've decided to cut now - but won't go too high because I don't want the covers back on either. Can always take more off and might even end up with one like Skips! Will also shift the stock overflow to under the seat, removing what looks to be another air flow restriction. Love this thing. :D:D:D
hey lets see the pics mate :D and also sorry i didnt get to have a beer with ya while u wher in brissy mate was a hectic weekend but next time for sure

Back to the knocking noise! I have an 06 Rocket and NO KN filter. Mine knocks when its cold from about 1700 to 2000 rpm's. After it warms up, the knocking is gone! What the hell?? I usually now crank and let it warm up before I head out! Whatcha think?

Just when you first start it up for the day,
or when you crank it up every time throughout the day?
does it do it after it sits for say a beer or two?
Does it sound like a paint can rattling or more like a knock?
what oil are you running?

My latest effort, the pinchweld needs tidying up yet but otherwise done.

Ok, I cut it. And yes, the first cut was the hardest. Very happy with the shape but took way too little off - same as Mitch's but you can only see about an inch of each filter. Will revisit tomorrow and take some more away. Might even do the "ro6ert" cut and will post pics then.

Spoke with the dealer today and want to order a new bear claw to cut up...I'm certain I'll make a mistake so I want an extra. Does anybody know the part number or where in the microfiche it can be found the dealer has no idea of what I'm talking about? I have a 2099 T3T. Any help is greatly appreciated.
