Penner maps

I have a 2023 R and I found its more responsive now. I upped the limit on the rev range also and removed the top end speed cap.

I find it red lines very fast when giving it almost can't keep up with the gear changes.

Also pops more when deceleration which is awesome....

Top end removal probably did not need as I don't or have not hit the original limit.

Hi Stonk the deceleration pops sound awesome. The only reason I haven’t put the tune in mine is my vin numbers don’t match any of the tunes. The map you would have used most likely been map 31018.

31255 is the one I used, I got it from dough.
Dough modified the afr table, makes the rain and road mode etv more aggressive, and derestricts sport mode.

I posted a tune for Australia, which gets bikes for the S Africa, Indonesia, and Argentina market, for a newish (vin after AV5456) GT. I copied the latest US Penner GT tables into the 31253 base map for OZ. What model and vin do you have?

Attached is the base map 31259 (s Africa, Indonesia, Argentina) supposedly for OZ. Can you check if this is your base map? I copied the tables from Penner’s new US R model (AV5457) into this.

I was cautious about using a US map in my UK bike even though the VIN was in the right range - but it works fine. I still don't understand what differences there could be between countries - if the fuel is the same, surely the power will be the same. Admittedly if you live on a mountain and the map came from the valley then there might be an altitude adjustment but isn't that about it? Emissions are surely irrelevant too - it's all about the power isn't it?

Don’t know what it is but there are a lot of data in the maps besides the tables that you can’t see. Some of this may differ between markets. If there were no differences and the tables were all the same, why would they have separate maps for different markets? Maybe in some (or all) cases, it doesn’t matter. Why chance something going wrong if you don’t have to?

Hi RazMan the difference between the maps from country to other country would be in USA has smog and like you said altitude can make a difference if you living say 3000 metres above sea level where air is thin. Maybe fuel could be a factor between the quality from country to country. The fuel we have here is e10 but no higher. I would think altitude would not make a difference anywhere if you live at sea level in any country but there is countries well above sea level and are colder places to live.
