How did you weld up the holes in the thread bosses? Only way I could see would be to cut off the bosses, weld up the holes and then replace the bosses? I would like to keep the heat shield such as it is. It does help a bit
I got some replacement boss mounts and welded a tiny piece of sheet metal to one end then welded in place of the one that i cut off.
I do have a tig welder but as it was 20 years since i last used one - I was a bit rusty.
Last pic was when i cut the second lot off and patched the pipe properly and put the thicker flange plates on - i was also messing arround with making a heat shield - still on the project list.....

Yes...they do various different lengths ....I got the nearest one to the length of the silencer ....if your silencer is cone shaped like mine then you have to wrap it tighter down the small end .....but it worked a treat for me .......I also did my vmax1700 silencers ....I bought aftermarket cans and it sounded like NASCAR .....I took the silencers out and it had a tiny piece of wire wool in each ...the wadding made a hell of a difference on that one
