Oil Tank O rings leaks

I mounted it myself. There are shops here that will do it. Some require that you bring the wheel in so they don't have the liability of mounting it on the bike. I have 8 oz of Ride On in my tires front and rear. Most people recommend 16.

Ride on is great stuff. I have used it for several years in my roadstar, even though I have tubes. I do think that it even balances out the tire a bit.

Happens this way sometimes. Somebody posts a picture of his cool pipe mods and dark side tire and there ya go. At any rate, the ride on tips is good stuff.

As to the o ring issues, I found it interesting because it might be a problem I have to deal with. My Uncle's old 69 Bonnie leaked a bit after every ride. Harleys did too and I grew up thinking this was just normal with all Britt bikes. I wonder if some of these motors might be pressurizing a bit.

When you installed your dark side tire, did you mount it yourself or get a shop? How about balancing?
A few guys on my old forum said they had to do it all themself because no shop would touch it.

I put it on myself. I used 8 oz of Ride On to balance it.

Also, don't use Vaseline. It swells O rings. Use O ring lube

Ride safe. Last wreck pictures I saw on the forum here we're of a rider's totaled rocket and it was wearing a dark side rig. Rider was ok thank God.

Those little o-rings are critical. When one leaks on my Diesel engine, huge problems follow. I can't help but think the crankcase vents on our bikes need opening up from what the factory designed. Years ago when I first got my roadstar, it had a weird dual tube emissions rig and breather system. First thing most of us did was to take it all off and install a air filter onto a larger breather tube routing it behind the engine. Better mpg, better sound, less complicated and fail safe.
