Oil leak from oil tank??

Intake mod and a good tune wil really wake up the bike. Most bang for the buck modification you can make IMHO.
While there are options that will net you more power, triple K&Ns allow you to retain the bearclaw for a stock look. Do a search here & @.com for instructions and you'll find it's so easy, a caveman could do it. If you get stuck, ask Lore to help. Heck, just have her do the whole job. :)

As does the RAMAIR - it was it's primary design objective. It also apparently breathes better than triple K&N's - I say "apparently" as I cant, first hand, show it does. The R3 shuffles faster imo (subjectively) though. Others have proof.

Do the oil leak - the rest is just a plus.

Hopefully it's just the tank, but the overheating bit would make me consider the head gasket.
It's been so long since I've seen mine with all the intake plumbing on, I can't recall if you'll be able to see anything when you raise the gas tank.? How about a small mirror and a penlight to try and trace the leak?

Its pretty simple here first decide what filters you want to run stock, triple, or What I would recommend the ram air. Of course if you do not mind a cut bear claw there is always Pipercross (go big or go home :)) After that its down to finding whats leaking which could be one of three things. Since she heated up. it could be the cam cover gasket on the left side of the motor. The oil tank seals as you suspect or possibly a head gasket (worse case sinerio) Either case pulling the throttle bodies is your best recourse for vision of the area. Once that is done you can figure out how much further and what direction you have to go. If its the cam cover you swap it out for a new one. If its the oil tank you just continue and pop her off. If its the head gasket then your right there and ther is no need to take off the oil tank. Simple as it can be!!!!
