Today is Military appreciation day at the local HD and they always do a good event, so off I go. I am all spiffied and and ready to take them on.

It is interesting that they decided to roast a Hog (pig) for the event, maybe I can roast a couple also.

Should be fun. The HD dealership nearest us often throws some good parties with lots of nice bikes and some cuties as well. We have found that taking on HD's with the Beast is very, very low risk.

Be safe.

We trudge on.

I always park the Rocket away from the Harleys at these days, a bit like the USS Missouri if you have the biggest guns then you can stand off and still intimidate the enemy

Just curious here, BUT
If not an HD customer, why would you crash their dealer events?
It obviously works for youse and I give credit to the dealer's welcome mat!

Because unlike a some places the HD dealer here places welcomes all types and riders of any bikes. The local one welcomes all because it they get you in the door they have a chance. Plus I have a lot of friends that go there. And the local Triumph place here doesn't do squat, ever, I expect them to fold at nearly any time.

Besides, HD and British bikes have this weird 2nd cousin type of thing going on. It's like they accept you on a British bike, unlike those on Japanese cruisers.

When I used to ride my Norton all over CA in the 70's if I ever ran into a club out and about we often chatted bikes before we went our separate ways. I don't think they would do that as readily with someone riding a Japanese bike.

That 2nd cousin thing has been going on for ever with HD. I used to find myself accepted back in the late seventies by the HD riders when I had my Trident.

I agree about the HD shops as well, the local shop here is open arms to all riders. I've run into the occasional HD ego junkie, but I ride with alot of buddies who ride HD so I just ignore em.

I too ride with folks on Harleys - have for over 50 years!
In fact I be bringing several to RAA XI with me!
I just have never attended a Harley event when not riding a Harley.

Even though this was a HD event, it was a Military appreciation day. The events I don't go to are the HOG events, the garage nights and things like that. The day events open to everyone I will go to whether I am riding or driving.
