Not Rocket related, but I trust you guys more than any other forum...

I wrecked and then rebuilt her in Germany. The crankcase and several transmission parts were messed up. But I failed to notice the tiny crack in the head on the other side of the engine. It seeps a tiny bit of oil, and will only get worse with time. Then my dog chewed the front ABS wire... So she runs fine, but before I register and all that I want to fix all that.

Cool man. If you need another pair of hands wrenching just hit me up. I agree about the HDs lol, always trying to get me to race with the wife on the back, but not once has anyone tried when I'm alone.

I've whipped the $hit out of of a couple Hardleys WITH the wife on the back. She doesn't get to upset as long as I don't wheelie. Funny how they won't look at you afterwords :p

Ya mine freaks out at 50% throttle lol. She's never felt real power, in a car or on a bike, except for like 2 seconds on the rocket to dodge an accident once.

I think her mind jumps straight to panic mode when she feels anything anywhere near 1 G of acceleration pull.

Thanks. I'll let you know if I need help. I'm down to ride with you regardless, even on my R1. I know darn well you can keep up with any type of riding I'll do on the island. In Germany I was the only cruiser in my bunch of friends and the Rocket3 kept up just fine.

Ah, makes sense now. I thought you'd completed the post wreck re-builds when I saw you in Austria. Hopefully, you'll be able to get a new head in Hawaii without problems. As for ABS...you can live without it; we all do on our older Rockets ;)

I thought I was done with the rebuild in Austria, too. It wasn't until after that trip that I noticed the crack. That trip is still the best ride I've ever done! Hence why it's my picture. I'm fine without the ABS... but the safety inspectors who check my bike to register it might not be... maybe I'll just find a way to disable the ABS light...

  1. I love my ABS here, out by hanauma bay or on 13 turns it let's me go crazy through those turns and still slow down in time as I scream up to the next turn lol.
