I have had these bikes "turn over like mad" and still not go, check battery /coil primary voltage when cranking. Does it go with a jump start? Good luck.

Thanks, Neville. No joy when trying to jump start. I'm a bit leary of checking voltages due to my lack of experience. Hopefully the professionals will find it right away.
