Next Rocket model


I'm not bothered at all that it is a niche bike, that is why I bought it! I love that it is unique and turns heads, and I knew that after buying it, I never intend on selling. I love this bike.

What I'm getting at is the R3 has been out 10 years now and you can mention it to a lotta guys who ride and they say "What's that?"

Nothing wrong with it, but from a market standpoint I understand why it hasn't been dethroned in terms of cc. I think if anyone would dethrone it, it would be Triumph to do it.
 
I have a cousin in his 60's now who has had a lot of different bikes in his lifetime...Triumphs, BSA, Norton, Honda four's, ..His love is Triumphs and he wouldn't go past a Rocket now. He said my Storm was "Starter Motor" and that my cobbers Victory Hammer is a "Lambretta"!!...all in good humour but to quote him..., "If you want a proper bike then it has to be a Rocket...I have seen many a Harley etc disappear behind me with the headlight getting smaller and smaller!!"...he just loves them and I am the same!....regardless if they don't hold their value...I don't really care!...as long as enjoy the ride that I receive. If you have ever ridden a horse with a lot of spirit you will know what I mean!

If you buy a Rocket brand new here in NZ its gonna cost you about 29 grand...wheel it out the shop door and "Poof"...youre gonna loose dollars bigtime!...but in saying that, the same applies to any "New" bike, or car for that matter...I paid 19 for my 2014 roadster just b4 xmas with 9300kms on it in great condition.

Twas indeed an 'inside" reference and FUNNY AS $HIT!!!
 
First off, ESC, like ABS improves safety and it also improves rider skill.
I have no stats or scientific tests regarding ESC performance, but ABS allows the "beginner" & "average" rider to attain stopping coefficients equal to "advanced" & "Pro" riders.
The "average" rider attains only .45g to .65g w/o ABS when the motors are more capable than cages at about 1g (and some even more).
The average driver of a cage will reach .75g; so it is plain to see average MC rider is at a HUGE safety disadvantage when it comes to stopping.
 
I read somewhere that ABS increases stopping distance for an expert rider. For me, it works great.
 
Traction control won't save the front washing out and causin a low side but as Bull says abs will definatly let you use all the brakes you have in an emergency situation without locking anything up an going down that way.Especialy when it's wet.
