Hello everyone. Been looking for a cruiser for a while, but I'm not much of a fan of chrome or the "old school" look of most cruisers. I layed a deposit down on a silver R3GT back in February, and after many months it hadn't arrived. While shopping with my brother in for his first bike, we went into the Triumph dealer to look, but mostly because I wanted to ask about my Rocket. They didn't know when it would be coming in due to COVID-19, but the salesman said he could make me a deal on a R3R to convert it to a GT for GT price, and I get to keep all of the R parts, seats, bars, etc. So last Friday, I picked up the first motorcycle I have ever bought brand new, my Red R3R and I love it. Looking forward getting some miles on this thing and slipping some mod purchases past my wife when I can.

Hello James and welcome from Virginia. I get your idea of not being a fan of chrome or "Old school" looking bikes. Funny thing is, the 2020 bikes are not cruisers as per Triumph's own words. That is not to diminish your bike one iota. Those of us on the forum were taken back by the announcement ourselves; or at least I was. To some, this is a plus.

I was unaware that it isn’t considered a cruiser. The fact that you can get forward controls kind of settles it for me, but It is what it is and it’s awesome however it’s classified.
