New Rocket III Roadster

I met up with Toystoretom yesterday and went riding. We stopped by the local dealer and they had gotten in a new Roadster. It was flat black. I really like the flat black on the Speed Triple, but I think because of the size of the tank, it is just a little too much on the Rocket. The handlebars felt better than my Classic or the standard, because the hand grips are more perpendicular to the riding position. The foot pegs are placed a little further back too. But what I really like are all of the functions on the new gauges. Along with the trip computers there is a fuel gauge, clock, and gear indicator.

Also, the Roadster exhaust doesn't look too bad in pictures, but no so in person. The pipes are no less than 6 inches in diameter; they are huge. And there is a small cat box where the exhaust splits to each side.

Totally. I finally got my '05 in for service, and saw the flat black roadster for the first time. While I was intrigued by the increased torque on paper, I could never go for that paint job, and the pipes made it look like a characature of itself.

EuroSports in Ft. Worth has it in also, the Flat Black and also a Gloss Black one. I Like the gloss black model much better.

But went ahead and got the bagger in black instead. I won't be so tempted to haul ass on it, as I am replacing the 07 rocket I layed down 3 weeks ago at around 120 MPH, after hitting some tire tread in the road and going into a high speed wobble.

I am fine now thanks to a good helmet and set of leathers.

No, it was the first one that they got in. They said they will have a demo this summer.
