As explained in my post above, if there is no error on the pump-run test, then the ignition circuit must be complete (and that is down-stream of the alarm interlock)

yes u r correct but i do not always believe those tests for example the circuit might be able to flow enough current to test ok but not flow enough current to work CIRCUIT (example work a fuel pump)

I'm not a electrical guru at all. So this round of problems has kicked me in the rear end. Systems on the Rocket are simple but can become confusing very quickly. The three second only explains a lot. going to down some more Gatorade and eat something then head out to the bike.

^ @TURBO200R4 The ignition circuit does not supply the fuel pump, only the pump relay coil (in that regard of the pump anyway) - the supplied current to that element will be 140mA (vs several amps for the fuel pump itself).
And current aside, the circuit has to be complete to the relay or it would definitely post an error when the Fuel Pump test is operated.*
And that same ignition circuit node at the relay coil is also what enables the ECU (as a whole) - so again, cannot be a problem with that node.

I'm not trying to be contradictory or dismissive of good suggestions - just that the data (at least as reported) dictates not chasing tale on things that are probably already accounted for from information given.

*The problem initially reported with the Fuel Pump Error in ECU was most likely down to the ignition being on with the relay removed - which is same as if the ignition circuit was missing from the relay socket.
Once posted error would be there till cleared after which did not return, so most likely just from relay being removed.

i understand what u r saying about the fuel pump relay and if the relay is applying then it should be clicking. also he says no voltage at the pins. sonny might be checking the wrong relay?
if he can follow your check list he should be able to find the prob.
i know for us it is like buttering bread but for sonny it must seem like a gigantic task.
ps i wish i could explain like u do.

I am loving all of the information here. @DEcosse never fails to come through and obviously spends quite a bit of personal time to help us.
I've had the flu the last few days and have not tried to find out if my fuel pump is bad, or something else.
I HOPE replacing the relay will fix it. If not I'll be printing out this thread.
I guess I should run the TuneECU test first after that.

@sonny : I hope you get it all worked out soon! I'll try what you did if I can't figure out mine. I keep my garage locked to keep out the gremlins, so must be something else.
At least the two times it hasn't started I had it home!!!

I read his comment to be at the connector, not at the relay socket

i THINK what he said was the 4 pin connector i was just assuming he was referring to the fuel pump relay connector (from memory that is a 5 pin with only 4 used?)
