New law for passenger vehicles :/

well not quite the same but I felt I can add to the gouging when we are forced to get repairs or such ..my local and only ford dealer is at the top of the list for gouging case I lost my keys ( house and truck) had the truck towed to the dealer for a new set of keys 48 hrs later I get a bill for $831 .00 for two keys and an explaination as to why it is so expensive !! I just replied you got me once but you won't see me again
worst yet I found the lost keys  two days later and paid ford for nothing:mad::mad:

That really sucks Patrick. What was the lame explanation for the stupid expensive keys ?

well the service manager tells me they have to call an outside locksmith then they had to change the ignition barrel ad some other electronic stuff but I also found out by some other people that many have been burned by this dealership and they go to the next town for repairs ...suffice to say I will too.

customer of mine with lexus went to dealer for key. they had to pull computer and reflash plus the key $1500. after that he had his seats recovered. then he had trans probs. computer said trans solenoid so we dropped the pan checked solenoid was not the problem but customer said replace it $260.
told customer it was probably bad computer. dealer said new computer $2000 so i told the customer i would take a look. pulled out glove box and a few other things and when got to the computer all we had to do was push the connector a little harder and it click on and the car was fixed. the customer was not a happy camper, but the dealer did pay him back for my repairs.

I'm loath to get into anything remotely political on this board because my views differ a lot from most, as most here are old, reactionary right wing and American. :) (I'm old, so far left I'm not on the average political map at all anymore and European...)

But I will say that at the end of the day the reason Government in the US isn't working for the common man is because it's full of rich people, doing favors for other rich people and corporations - and when they leave office, they more often than not go right to work for the rich buddies they sold out the average Americans to while they were in office, ie the infamous "revolving door" policy. The government is the corporations, and the corporations are the government.

I would still argue that doesn't show that the idea of government working for the people is a bad one. It just shows that the American government has been subject to near-total "regulatory capture" - the groups that should be regulated (like corporations and the wealthy) have bought the regulators and they can now run hog wild, with predictable consequences for the average citizens and the nation as a whole.

I may agree but not sure it is relevant to thread and discussion of registration costs which are hardly a Federal or high level govt issue.

It's hard to pass up an opportunity to sling some $hit at the US though.

Good thing is they are just words, opinions and ideas. Nothings weaponized here on our forums.:whitstling::thumbsup:

Bigger slings and flings from North Korea's and the USA's leaders flares International crisis.
Breaking not so fake News:
Kim Jong-in flung dung as he sung he would sling a Taepodong* or Moksong*, and start a real ding dong.
Trump betters bitter tweets - "F*ck em, I'll nuke em and turn their ass to glass".
