New law for passenger vehicles :/

The plus side is...that if some myopic inattentive tin top wipes me out on the road I will be receiving the very best care and liquidised meals through government funded drinking straws

Nah mate - As long as it was an accident on a public access roadway Private patient status, all picked up by the Insurer who provided the Compulsory No Fault 3rd party personal injury provided by Private insurance companies with the purchaser's total registrations cost. Those drinking straws will be paid for by the Insurer but probably charged out at a 50% loading for 'Premium service', if your lucky you may get a different straw for each puree.;):D

When I was a youngen and learning to drive, I informed my mom that as winter was approaching we would need winter tires. She told me if I couldn't drive with summer tires in winter I should not be driving. Hmm I shut up pretty quick. I wanted to drive.
I did learn that no matter what the conditions you have to drive safe and that really has nothing to do with the law.

I didn't read through all the post, but some seem to believe the vehicle inspection is about safety. Wrong. No inspector has checked my lights horn etc., the last ten or more inspections. They drive it, in case someone's watching. Then bring it in hook up the OBD port and take the money. I I have a 1992 van that only gets the safety inspection. The inspector asked me is there anything wrong with it? I said no. He put the information in the computer and said, that'll be $7 please.

Its ALL about the money and nothing more. Its just another tax, altho they won't call it that. Most anytime they say its about your safety its really about money or some other ulterior motive. Never trust government...city, county, state or fed!

You have to love OKLAHOMA. It's about as corrupt a state you will ever find. We don't have vehicle inspection and we don't vote for a democrat president :eek::p:D:roll:

Unfortunately, they all are corrupt. Difference being some look worse than others because more of their politicians get caught.

We used to have them but for a little extra money they would give you the sticker anyways.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: No corruption just good business sense:whitstling::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling:

Yea, I really was just surprised that for all my driving years, all a car/truck needed to be legal was two brake lights. As long as there have been a high mount third light on cars it wasn't necessary to pass inspection. Oh but some dikchead woke up one n said shat! Look at the $$$$ we could make by adding that to the inspection list!!!!
My suburban is an 03 model. From 2000-2006 they are bad about going out. So I left the inspection place, which is about 2 miles from work. By the time I got back to work I saw 3 other suburbans or Tahoes with brake light on n third light not working. Out of 40 people that I work with 1 other guy and one lady's husband both have third light out on their Tahoes.
For sure someone at the DMV figured that out as a way to rape our $$$$$ :banghead:
The law can't dictate the light to oem. Go to harbor fright and get a magnetic stoptail. Cheap.

No inspections and you do not want to know what I pay for the annual registration for Pickup ,Fiat. Harley and Rocket. Lets just say with what you spent on registration for one vehicle I spend on all four plus dinner. Keep supporting the local casinos. (CREEK NATION):cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool::cool: Referring to the $85 dollars.:p:p:p:p:p:p:p
well not quite the same but I felt I can add to the gouging when we are forced to get repairs or such ..my local and only ford dealer is at the top of the list for gouging case I lost my keys ( house and truck) had the truck towed to the dealer for a new set of keys 48 hrs later I get a bill for $831 .00 for two keys and an explaination as to why it is so expensive !! I just replied you got me once but you won't see me again
worst yet I found the lost keys  two days later and paid ford for nothing:mad::mad:
