New D&D slip installed today

Haha first time ive seen this Thread , mate i was laughing imagining Hanso dancing around in that film clip

I just got the D&D pipe set up on mine today. TheTriumph shop only did the Triumph retune which most all of you say is lousy so I'm not expecting much. The sound is better so thats a plus. The main thing I was hoping for was a reduction in heat. I had the headers wrapped and am hoping for some improvement. Its over a hundred degrees here in Las Vegas right now so I'll take the bike out for a couple of hours tonight at about 3am. It will only be 80 or 85 at that time and I can see how it works. Its nice here from 3am till 7am this time of year, after that it starts getting hot. from the middle of September onwards for about 9 months its great weather, August sucks.

I rode the bike about 90 miles in town and on the freeway early this morning. The heat wrap was a definite help and according to the infrared heat gun thermometer it knocked off about 30 degrees. The air temp was 80 degrees or hotter and the engine heat was no big deal. The bike sounds good, not to loud or to quiet. It runs good but since I'm breaking it in right now I haven't hammered it yet. Its very smooth at 70 mph but I haven't been over that yet, so far no vibrations. My hand is still swelled up but its healing, at least I can work the clutch for a few hours of in town riding. Its probably good exercise for it even though it aches.

How did the stock tune do in your setup Dave?

Also, I'm curious what that manifold tape looks like after you've got it applied, got a couple pics by any chance?

The bike runs great but I don't know if its better than the stock tune and pipes because I haven't ever really worked it hard. It only now has 208 miles on it. The header wrap is some type of cloth about 1 and 1/2 inch wide impregnated with titanium. All the stock shields are back over it so you do not see it unless you try to. I TOOK NO PICS BEFORE THE SHIELDS WERE PUT BACK ON. After the bike is broken in I will probably have someone load the best program in it but I need to ride it awhile first.
