New 2.5L owner, things I hate about the motorcycle.

well to be fair...some of us do...i have three pairs of boots one which has laces as they are more suitable in summer cos theyre cooler and easy to get on and off...so i'll put my hand up!
My hand went up also. I do tuck the laces inside the boots but I like boots that can be adjusted to have one pair of socks in the summer and up to three pair in the winter. Believe it or not it gets cold here in the foothills. It dropped to 62 degrees last night:) Now getting someone to tie my shoes for me is another story. Cheers.

Must be nice:confused:
I thought so when I spent a year traveling anticlockwise round Australia in effectively perpetual summer. And it's all very nice, but when I got back to what I though would be the grey, dark, gloomy British Isles I hadn't reckoned on our endless summer evenings when it stays light to 10:30 PM and the sun takes hours to set instead of minutes.
For every Yin there's a Yang.

It is a great motorcycle, otherwise I would not have thrown ~28K USD on it. But not without its faults.

Things I strongly dislike about it:

- Inability to put on generic grips, there are so many better handlebar grips out there...
- Inability to put on floorboards, none are made for this model, GT and no floor board choices at all, shame, shame!
- Strange mix of allen/hex and torx bolts, I don't get it. How is that is superior to having a single type?
- I like the storm black, looks way better than prior silver models, but it still has too much silver displayed that cheapens it
- I truly hate the design for the BIG silver bolt heads, looks like a flower.. Silver. Same with the handlebar ends.. Not good for a sports bike or a cruiser to have such girly decoration. Who approved this ****?
- On a GT the boot heat shields are so small, they can catch laces easily. You'd want to put your leg down but the loop is stuck on the shield..
- The dash is terrible. Small font, can't see ****, too many numbers too close together, the frame of it feels cheap and too silver, again. Overengineered and over designed. You do know they have a normal rectangular display, and they put plastic dividers above to simulate, as if it is an array of smaller oddly shaped LCDs? OMG.
- The front mudflap from the rear wheel is too short, stuff always gets collected where the swing arm begins.
- I feel like the clutch is too stiff for a hydraulic one, could have been lighter
- The phone pocket under the seat is just needless. Who puts phones so far and hard to access?
- I don't get why the front turn signals are not reused to be also the running lights, like on most bikes nowadays...
- The rear brake (2025 model) is still lacking performance. Doesn't do a good job. There are heavier bikes with better rear brakes. I don't get the issue here. So many years trying to better it and it is still not optimal.
- The included tools on this bike from the side cover is just laughable. What you are going to do with it?
- The covers for coolant, oil, and gas are too plain. They made the bolts super fancy but left these covers plain as for a tractor. On a black storm the hugely silvery gas cap looks just out of place. Little thought went into most prominent feature.
- The gear shift pedal is too short. If you have a big size and riding in Harley style boots, it is troublesome to get under the shift lever, it is like you must ride in sneakers. The height is not adjustable. No other levers are for sale.
Wow...on a bike that is supposedly got one of the quickest 0 to 60 times, highest toque and then some, largest engine cubic capacity. Do you not think that the engineers and designers at Hinckley Leicester in UK wanted to be different to the usual Harley not that there is anything wrong with a Harley.
No to floor boards..could ruin the look of the bike unless their is a custom option by a company. I have the 2021 limited edition Rocket 3R Black. Only gripe is road fling. No issues with laces getting stuck on heel guards or whatever. No issues with instrument panel.
I think Triumph have nailed the re working of the Rocket and gone further in my opinion. My Rocket now is low ish mileage, had an uprated Sprint air filter, custom after market exhaust, suspension tweeked and adjusted by a specialist motorcycle suspension company and best of all a full remap. 167 to 203 and it's so so silky smooth but brutal. Forget "the Rocket Storm is what the mechanics have said at my Triumph Dealership until you've tried this customers Rocket 3R Black"...i love it and commute to work almost everyday come wind, rain, sleet, sunshine, NO SNOW and I have it in sport mode all the time. Gorgeous brilliant and untouchable...

I'm looking forward to being able to download the Rocket Storm's map so i can see where and what they have changed from the predecessors map.....

I'm planning all that for mine this year. I'm struggling with the exhaust though. What did you go with? Didyou have a custom one-off made?
