Trying to install an Acumen DG8 gear indicator on the R3T, but for the life of me I can't work out how the neutral light on the dash works. The manual is next to hopeless with details on the dash connections but having metered the pins out, buggered if I can find the feed or earth that relates to that light

I beiieve the switchgear is located on the engine case right by the starter and Triumph prefers to break the positive side rather than the negative side which is actually good practice, I have no idea about the feed other than it appears to be black on one lead and black/orange on the other.

The position switch is going to feed the ECM before it will actuate the neutral light because physical gear position determines fueling requirements and sets the secondary butterflies for reduced power. I'd be picking up the signal at the position indicator (at the engine case) instead of the instrument cluster. The ECU has to determine which gear the transmission is in while the neutral light is the sole function of the ECM signal.

I'm using the R3 standard/classic wiring diagram but it should be the same for trigger signals.

I was just having a problem with the indicator light and the switch is at the rear of the engine on the left next to the drive shaft. I was going to try and trace the wires today to see if I had a loose connection but my light started working again. Not sure if that helps.
