My Unexpurgated Amatuer Review of the 2020 GT

I’m sure you’re right. The R and GT aren’t worlds away, conceptually, from the old Standard and Classic. A Touring would certainly be on the drawing board but by no means guaranteed making it into production. Bolt on big screen (yuk) and big bags touring kit probably a fall back option.

Hill hold does sound convenient but how fast can you move from it when a distracted vehicle is not stopping behind you?
I don't always sit with clutch in and bike in gear, but twice on Brahma I have had to leave my resting spot so a large vehicle could have it. Both of those instances I was ready to go and did without much thought. Had I been in neutral, I may not be able to ask now.

If I worried about every happenstance that could occur while riding a motorcycle I would never ride one, lol. I am for sure not going to sit at every intersection I have to stop at with the scooter in gear with the clutch in. However I understand your trepidation, if I had twice been almost mashed like yourself I am sure I would be equally worried.

I always sit at stops with the bike in gear and the clutch in. It’s just habit.

A friend just bought a new GT he picks it up this saturday so Il will get to try it and we will race it against my 2oo3 modded VMAX that will be interesting

Well, my dealer has an R and a GT. Definitely hooligan bikes. Reminded me of the Honda Rune when it came out. To my surprise, he offered me a test ride, and a loaner helmet. I will be taking him up on that soon (with my own gear).
