Are you in pops medicine again

Nice wiring job.
Had a short on the trailer last week and with it being 45years old I couldn't be bothered tracing the short went out and brought a $59 LED plug in set.
Then couldn't feed it through the draw bar spent another $40 on pipes to protect it running along the out side of the draw bar.🙄

Thanks but Im about to bust up that happy home.

My ’05 engine number is 214513
VIN SMTCOOL465J213629 and it looks like I may be getting everything needed for the upgrade to the newer bearing and lifter components.

Embarrassing moment unveiling my not-so-handy fugly wiring rats nest.

Much of it needs to be replaced...

Why use a label maker when you can create another use for duct tape and then be unsure of what you wrote on it??

In my defense, the wiring harness and brake controller are from Japan, the trailer fuse box is US and the bike is British so none of the colors align and I’m color blind to boot!

Tie wraps with labels

Today we have in our hands
Front tire
Rear tire
Stator and rear gasket.
And a wiring project.
Jims ass will be dragging the ground the next two days. lol
This should have posted this morning but was still on my phone

its almost 5:00 pm and we have fixed his electric problems on the bike
repaired shorts, it was missing the power (tail light) out of ign switch so we used two of the fuse jumpers to get power from another fuse.
we left the dread locks be cause we like them   . got to much to do to mess with them.
tomorrow is another day.:whitstling:

Fun stuff today per Hermans post:

1. Wiring unwrapping, cleanup and tracing and lots of diagnostics by Herman and his Tech Rick. All lights work and we will complete splices, soldering, wrapping and routing tomorrow.
2. Cleaned both wheels and deflated to prep for new tires
3. Cleaned radiator and swingarm
4. Removed and cleaned K&N air filters
5. Cleaned Jardine pipes
6. Bought misc. cleaning & repair supplies at local auto stores
7. Herman and Rick measured my clutch plate thickness and confirmed they were well within spec range and that I have not been abusing it enough and should have remedial hooning training ASAP!!!

8. Researched final disassembly steps
9. Researched torque specs

10. Installed new Kellerman Bullet tri-mode chrome left blinker

11. Ordered clutch lifter components from Hermys in PA USA:

These parts are required to upgrade an early model Rocket with the old style Lifter Piece with Needle Bearings to the latest (3rd) Lifter Piece and Ball Bearing style.

Lifter Shaft, Clutch Part Number:
T1170041 $46.75

Plate, Clutch Pressure Part Number:
T1170061 $196.34

Bearing, Pressure Plate Part Number: T1170067 $25.88

Gasket, Clutch Cover Part Number: T1260107 $10.58

Washer, Wave Part Number:
T3550380 $3.69

Lifter Piece, Clutch Part Number: T1172023 $34.99

NOTE 1: These would also be needed but were on hand:
O Ring, Water Pump (chrome exit hose to motor) Part Number:
T3600910 $1.14
O Ring, Water Pump Part Number: T3600160 $8.74

Note 2: As per the notes in the OEM parts catalogue descriptions for the two spacers for the lifter piece, neither are needed for the 3rd iteration part number T1172023 above.

Hermy agreed but Please let me know if these washers or anything else is needed - TIA!

When we were shopping we found an alternative cage for me to drive should my Rocket riding privileges be rescinded if I can’t learn to utilize its full potential:

Love Machine with purple shag carpeting - yeah baby!

I'm thinking an even trade would seal the deal!

[/QUO you only need to use the wave washer with the new style lifter piece.

I too use the washer and the wave washer, maybe its like the detent springs some toss, dunno but i use like parts fiche says
I believe with new press. plt. you disregard the heavy washer, not required. Think I read that in parts drawing. Better double check that.
