VIN SMTCOOL465J213629 and it looks like I may be getting everything needed for the upgrade to the newer bearing and lifter components.

Embarrassing moment unveiling my not-so-handy fugly wiring rats nest.

Much of it needs to be replaced...

Why use a label maker when you can create another use for duct tape and then be unsure of what you wrote on it??

In my defense, the wiring harness and brake controller are from Japan, the trailer fuse box is US and the bike is British so none of the colors align and I’m color blind to boot!

1. Wiring unwrapping, cleanup and tracing and lots of diagnostics by Herman and his Tech Rick. All lights work and we will complete splices, soldering, wrapping and routing tomorrow.
2. Cleaned both wheels and deflated to prep for new tires
3. Cleaned radiator and swingarm
4. Removed and cleaned K&N air filters
5. Cleaned Jardine pipes
6. Bought misc. cleaning & repair supplies at local auto stores

These parts are required to upgrade an early model Rocket with the old style Lifter Piece with Needle Bearings to the latest (3rd) Lifter Piece and Ball Bearing style.

Bearing, Pressure Plate Part Number: T1170067 $25.88

Gasket, Clutch Cover Part Number: T1260107 $10.58

Washer, Wave Part Number:
T3550380 $3.69

Lifter Piece, Clutch Part Number: T1172023 $34.99

NOTE 1: These would also be needed but were on hand:
O Ring, Water Pump (chrome exit hose to motor) Part Number:
T3600910 $1.14
O Ring, Water Pump Part Number: T3600160 $8.74

Note 2: As per the notes in the OEM parts catalogue descriptions for the two spacers for the lifter piece, neither are needed for the 3rd iteration part number T1172023 above.

When we were shopping we found an alternative cage for me to drive should my Rocket riding privileges be rescinded if I can’t learn to utilize its full potential:

Love Machine with purple shag carpeting - yeah baby!

I'm thinking an even trade would seal the deal!

[/QUO you only need to use the wave washer with the new style lifter piece.

I believe with new press. plt. you disregard the heavy washer, not required. Think I read that in parts drawing. Better double check that.
