My first 11K miles; 2014 R3T

Good write-up and good looking bike btw.
How do you like the TORs?
The TORs have worked out well. Coming up on 30K miles later this week and they sound the way I want them too and still look great.

Personally, I like the BrakeAway throttle lock. The Mc Cruise seems to work well for everyone that has it, but the cost is way out of my reach. The BrakeAway does all I need it to do and releases when you pull the front brake. Except for having to turn down the stock throttle grip slightly and making a small bracket to raise the front brake release cam slightly, it was a piece of cake to install. But then again, I'm quite handy at fabricating stuff. Pictures tell the story, but note....I have some foam grip puppy's I put on over my stock grips after the install.
Thanks for that Bedifferent. I am going to need to get new grip soon as the OEM are worn down significantly now. I was thinking oa throttle lock and heated grip when I replace them. Probably not Triumph heated grips.

I'm leaning towards the contoured Avon heated grips and I don't believe they will need any modifications to work with the BrakeAway throttle lock. Now if I can just find out if their throttle cable attachment point breaks out as well. The thing is, they cost as much as a set of heated gloves that will work with my Tourmaster heated jacket liner. Just another thing to carry is all.

I have the Tourmaster heated gloves and like them a lot. However, when the air temp drops down into the 20s, they come up lacking on my morning trip to work. I supplement now with the Hippo Hnads and that work great all the way down to 0 F. I think having the heated grips will be a big bonus for me.

OMG....I have no intentions of riding in the 20's. My old bones won't tolerate that. The 40s maybe...thanks for the opinion on the heated gloves. Good to hear and I'll be giving them so thought.

20s? Too much crap on the ground when it's in 20s here in Nebraska: salt, sand, snow, ice, leaves.
I rode in 27 degree weather once without heated anything. Never again. I'm getting old; it has to be in the 40s for me.

I hear ya Cat, I lived in Omaha for three years when the Navy had me recruiting there. It seemed colder there then years later when I lived in Denver. Still, I rode year round and that was before I had the heated gear. Nothing as nice as holding that HOT cup of coffee after a freezing 30 minute ride to work...

@Boog I install McCruise on my bike, and highly recommend it. Since you're in the neighborhood, you're welcome to test ride it some time.
