Hi all, As a long time Harley rider I am enjoying the learning curve with my recent purchase of a used R3. The M/C was purchased not running but I have faith she will be fine. I am waiting for the cable to arrive so I can check the ECM and identify the error code. The bike Sat for over 4yrs. After the previous owner passed away. Symptoms lead me to think it's a fouled fuel pump or filter. Most likely the filter. The chrome cleaned up very well and I have been impressed with the quality engineering and assembly of this machine.

Would you please fill out your profile . . . we are friendly here and don't bike, and like to know with whom we are dealing. Who knows, someone who wouldn't post to an anonymous poster, might find you are neighbors and be just the person you were hoping.

While you are at it, please add the year and specific model of Rocket you have -- that makes a difference in the usefulness of information you receive . . . if you want more than a shoulder shrug and "I dunno".

Good luck with your project, and while you are preaching to the choir, you have made a good choice and are right appreciate the quality of engineering and assembly.

Fuel generally dislikes 4-year storage periods. You should probably flush out the entire tank, and clean out the rest of the system also.

Some parts are quality, other parts are bargain basement. By some strange coincidence, all the bargain basement parts can be bought in a much classier form from Triumph. Huh, strange how that happened. But that's par for the course in capitalism I guess.

Yes, I have flushed the tank twice and added a can of seafoam injector cleaner. I can get the bike to start by priming the carbs and she will run for a bit at higher rpm but stumbles a quits as the RPM drop's. When I get the cable and hook up the computer I will be able to read the error code

I loaded my profile on RAA site. Have updated with the R3 because I don't have it running yet. Right now I own and work on a R3, I'll be a ROCKET rider when she is road ready and running down the Hwy

Not strange at all the triumph Rocket is an entry level bike in the big boys market and at a very affordable price some parts are quality some are soso now if everyone was willing to pay high 20 or 30 thousands I am sure Triumph could improve in some areas.
