Most efficient mods question...

Uni filters will also fit under the claw while giving adequate air flow, this is mine prior to a clean.

I'm sure you all know but HansO helps out tremendously.

He sent me a table for my PC5 and autotune and it works perfectly. The bike runs excellent and the gas mileage improved 8 miles per gallon.

I have taken his advice and just use the PC5 with his table and never have excepted the trims. Just continue to let the table and autotune do its magic.

When I 1st started had the carpenter 210 kit, K&N filters that still fit under the claw and Tors exhaust.

I have very recently added the Carpenter sidewinder exhaust.

Question for HansO: Will your table still be alright for the sidewinder exhaust?

Thanks for everything Hanso

yeah a guy that can use TuneECU a lot of them use only Power Commanders aka PCV made by DynoJet who makes most of the dynos out there, but if you can find a good tuner that will use TuneECU then you will get a better tune.
if you don't want to or like a few here me included don't have one near you can always go the way of getting a PCV and the Auto Tune module I have created a map (which I am happy to send out along with a Tweaked TuneECU tune) for it which while not as 100% as a good Dyno will give you a decent improvement to performance, almost all I have given my tunes to have reported back favourably.
I have the same in fact I was one of the first to start using the K&N RX 4040-1's that @Steel showed you a picture of there are several other K&N's that will fit but if you do not want to cut your Bear claw then the K&N 2780's are the way to go (while adequate the bigger the better the flow), they will still deliver just enough air for a stock motor with TOR's and will fit under your Claw

That is one of the things I find so great about this board. Help at your fingertips. Thanks HansO. I have a few obsticles to overcome yet. I've got to more research, and more importantly, find all the funding under a rock or something. I'm looking forward to a re-tune. I'm so new to these bikes, and I only use apple computers so looks like I'm out of luck for doing one myself.

On my Touring, which I acquired with a now discontinued Jardine exhaust system...I took the tune that came with it, and disabled the o2 sensor and trimmed the low end a little bit richer to combat lean popping. It gave a result that I can feel in the seat of my pants! So what has been mentioned above can give you real results. But do keep looking around here and asking questions. It's easy enough to do good and helpful things, but it's almost easier to do something that just won't work!

If you can scare up a cheap Android tablet you can install TuneEcu and get yourself a Lonelec cable to interface to your bike. The TuneECU website includes a ton of tunes, one or three of which will suit the mods you ultimately would like to make. And of course with the TuneECU software you can tweak any particular tune to your specific needs and liking.

Looks like the TORS is going to set me back about $525. I've seen a lot of intake options. One was a new filter option that looks like it sits just over the 3 intakes. I don't mind the look of the 3 K&N's but would rather not cut the claw. I'll look into the other K&N options to see what's out there.

Question: I've never Dyno'd any of my bikes. So when we talk about getting a dyno tune, is that something I take it to a shop for?
YOUR not going to get the most power with TORS spend some more money and get a full exhaust its worth it and youll lose the weight of the stock exhaust for even more performance 165 HP RWHP will pep up the beast youll love it and CARPENTER can supply the pipe and tune and even do a dynotune if you take it there

Believe me, I would love to. I've been all over the Carpenter site. To drop another $4, $5, or $10K into this bike just isn't a possibility for me. I have to accept my reality and try to get the most "bang for the buck". I can't even afford the TORS right now. That's only half the equation. I need to be able to afford a better intake solution as well. I figure I'm looking at dropping maybe $800 to $1000 into this bike to get it close to what I want. I would love nothing better than to drop it off at Carpenter Racing (only a 3K mile ride for me!) and give them a blank check. Reality is, however, I don't have that kind of bread. I feel lucky to just have the Rocket 3! And I had to sell one of my favorite bikes just to afford that.

WELL in that case why not go with the single slip on thats mentioned I think its Blain that sells it for under $200 and then change to the K&N 440 extremes youll lose weight with the single exhaust and gain more Hp than the TORS and that should hold you over for awhile
