Most efficient mods question...

Back in the day, when I was a younger man, and Rockets were even younger, there was a thing called the "resistor" mod. You could put a resistor in the gear sensor and if it was in any gear except neutral, the ECU would think that it was in 4th. That did two things. First, it removed the secondary throttle restriction in the first three gears and second, it removed the top speed restriction which was only in 5th gear. 4th gear was the only gear without restrictions.

Then we had TuneBoy, and for a lot of money you could set the secondaries open in all gears and move the speed limiter to way above anywhere you would ever get (Warp9.9 excluded). It also allowed you to change the tune in the ECU and diagnose and correct a number of other things.

Then came TuneECU which would do all that for (effectively) nothing.

Then came PC3, followed by PCV/AT, which would allow the bike to tune itself while you ride it.

I have all four of those things, although I think I removed the resistor mod. My advice, which is probably worth about as much as it costs, is to get TuneECU and a tune form Hans0. That will probably be very close to what you want. Then get PCV/AT, and a tune for that from Hans0, and then ride the bike for a while. After you are happy with the tune, and have saved the trims, swap back to the regular O2 sensor and ride.

The easiest thing to do is add the TORs and modify the stock TORs tune to look like the stock TORs tune for 2014 and later. This just open ls the secondaries. This will give significant increase in low end torque.

If this isn't enough then you could add triple filters. This is mainly a high end mid. But then you will have to go on a tuning odyssey, whether it's Dobeck, PCV, or trying tunes that others have made. Or getting your own dyno tune.
So, I have an 06 classic with tors and all i have to do is load a stock 2014 or later tune in it to open the secondaries in 1-3rd gears?

No you cant put a later version tune in your ECU will have a fit!!!!
send me a Conversation (PM) with your e-mail address and I will send you a good tune for your setup

All I can say is: "I have so very, very much to learn!". I need to get over to Bill's house and talk to him. Sounds like I really want a set of TORS and maybe the K&N setup, but don't know which one to get.

If you want the most air possible the RX-4040, but you will need to trim the claw.

There are 2 smaller options that fit under the claw, but they have less air flow, and I don't remember the part numbers.

Two best power mods that are relatively cheap is to allow air IN and air OUT.
Ramair or k&n air filter coupled with a good free flowing exhaust then a Dyno tune you should see an increase of about 40hp. Forget the GIPro with ATRE with a Roadster as you already have a Gear Indicator in the gauges. The Dyno tune will sort out the timing in the 1-3 gears.
You can also use one of @HansO tunes instead of a Dyno, but Dyno would achieve best results

When I said "I don't know which one to get", I was referring to the K&N intake set. I've seen a lot of aftermarket exhausts but like the idea of the TORS. I've never been one to like a loud bike. Silent power has always been my forte. I'm guessing the TORS are probably louder, but hoping not too much.

Looks like the TORS is going to set me back about $525. I've seen a lot of intake options. One was a new filter option that looks like it sits just over the 3 intakes. I don't mind the look of the 3 K&N's but would rather not cut the claw. I'll look into the other K&N options to see what's out there.

Question: I've never Dyno'd any of my bikes. So when we talk about getting a dyno tune, is that something I take it to a shop for?

yeah a guy that can use TuneECU a lot of them use only Power Commanders aka PCV made by DynoJet who makes most of the dynos out there, but if you can find a good tuner that will use TuneECU then you will get a better tune.
if you don't want to or like a few here me included don't have one near you can always go the way of getting a PCV and the Auto Tune module I have created a map (which I am happy to send out along with a Tweaked TuneECU tune) for it which while not as 100% as a good Dyno will give you a decent improvement to performance, almost all I have given my tunes to have reported back favourably.
I have the same in fact I was one of the first to start using the K&N RX 4040-1's that @Steel showed you a picture of there are several other K&N's that will fit but if you do not want to cut your Bear claw then the K&N 2780's are the way to go (while adequate the bigger the better the flow), they will still deliver just enough air for a stock motor with TOR's and will fit under your Claw
