I installed an automotive cruise control on my previous bike. The vacuum was only used to smooth out the speed going up/down hills. I had tapped into one of the vacuum ports on the intake (it was a 4 cycle engine). I had issues with the bike surging when running with the cruise control. The solution was to make and install a small PVC vacuum tank. This allowed the engine to create enough vacuum in the tank to let the cruise control function. Having said all that I don't believe that the vacuum issue is the cause of your cruise shutting off. I would look more towards a bad ground/flaking brake light switch or an out of adjust linkage etc.

Frank at McCruise believes there is an issue with the speed sensor wire. Hope I did not screw up the lead to two way terminal housing:evil::D Although it should have been caught by my tech when he tested it, I would have thought. But he probably did not get it up to 75mph. It is really a cool option and I highly recommend it. Most likely mymerror.
