McCruise guys

You could install a vacuum pump from a car i think volvo???

Just found this in the MCC Troubleshooting manual:

9 Cruise will not operate at higher speeds (above 80 kph / 50 mph)
Speed sensor test / gap too small
Too many magnets installed
Incorrect calibration/perform speed calibration*
Check diagnostic stop codes (see next page)

* Was this even done? See page 11 of the TS guide and page 16 of the Set-up/User Guide (below)

** See page 4 of the TS guide for the codes

Thanks guys,

Received an email response from Tony at McCruise. Will be doing the test on the slab this weekend.
Tony was very helpful on the install, although I did bug him a lot with questions so I would not screw up

I don't know if you have the option -- we do it in the Air Force when working on fighter planes and bombers -- having a second set of eyes to review your installation, can be really useful.
That's cool Paul, I never new the USAF put MCC on fighter jets too... I bet most pilots forget to tap the brakes, they hate slowing down.

It is on line B between 2 and 3. That is where RonTTony recommended .

After making that post earlier, then reading the TS guide, it sounds more like it could be the speedo cal per my last post - did you do that cal Rick?
It specifically relates to (non) engagement at higher speeds

Incidentally I am well impressed with MCC's documentation - they have a LOT of detail in there.

Finally able to get it out today and run the recommended test from Tony at McCruise. Tried to duplicate what happened setting it at 70, no issue so I reset at 75 and it still did not cut out so I bumped it up with the set button increasing the speed a couple mph at a time, then it cut out. The error code I received was 9 flashes which seems to indicate that I have to redo the speed sensor pulse rate. Sent an email to Tony and will wait for his confirmation. No desperate need to get it done today. Ginger has cut down on my riding time this year...

Did you just try the speedo cal procedure Rick?
It looks really simple ........
And if you haven't done it yourself I would almost guarantee your installer did not either

No, had some other shot that needed to be done this pm. Tomorrow pm looks good so far. Yea, it does look easy. I did about 90% of the install and was pestering McCruise with a lot of questions even though I was pretty sure I knew the answer. Being a retired Chief Accountant and Chief Budget Officer I am a bit analysis retention and tend to question a lot when I do something the first time. SO I let my Triumph tech finish it to elevate the frustration. None of this install was difficult, other than my doing it the first time and wanting it PERFECT. One of my faults.
