I've used TuneECU a few times to try a few different maps and I have never had problems, now I cannot download a new map to my ECU. I open TuneECU and read my map, it reads what is currently in my ECU, I open the map I want to download and it opens up and says on bottom of the screen that it is the right map that I want. I click on Download and it acts like that it is downloading, it goes to 100%, I hear the usual noises on the bike so I assume it has downloaded the new map into the ECU. I unhook everything and run the bike a bit, shut it down, hookup laptop to read the map and it shows that it still has the old map, It is not taking the map I am trying to download....UGHHH. And the map I am trying to download is one that I have used in the past and it worked fine... Anyone have any ideas???

Ok just for grins, try pulling the map you want to install first then shut down tune ecu/ now hook it up to the bike and make sure it is connected by the lights once it is go to test page and double click on test fan. if the fan comes on you linked up. Now that you are linked up go to map edit and check to make sure the map you want to load is the one that you opened tune ecu up with. ( note I did not say read the map like you have been doing. You only need to do that once and save that map.
Of it is up try loading the new map which is already up.

So first if you do not get the fan test to perform your not linked up with the bike. lets try that first.

if it's not talking to the bike, a message saying ecu not responding will pop up. While the tunes are stored in flash memory, you might try disconnecting the battery for a while.

So it seems that maybe the map I was trying to download may have been corrupted or something, I deleted that particular map from my computer totally then went to Tune ECU site and download back into my computer, then I was able to successfully download it into my ECU... I'll see how how does if I ever get a chance to ride much between all the crazy thunderstorms we've been having, thanks to everyone for your help
