Maggie valley June 2019

Yep Youtube has made the Dragon popular and overcrowded. I just use it now to get to other places.

I was by myself riding the dragon and a guy came FLYING around a corner in a MR2. Sounded like all four tires was breaking loose. He was over on my side of the road when we passed. I thought ... if this guy had lost control of his car I would have been a smeared spot on the road when it was all over.

Last weekend there was a Polaris Slingshot rally in MV and those things were all over the Dragon and everywhere else. Scared the carp out of me cuz they were all hauling a** but they do look fun to drive lol.

Why I have no desire to ride the dragon, plenty of other good roads around.

Looking less and less like my wife will be in condition to ride the Rocket come the 18th.

So I'm looking at an alternative adventure: see if there are enough working DC fast chargers along the way for our new Chevy Bolt to make it to Maggie Valley, and take in some of the surrounding scenery.

There is a Level 2 charger at the town hall, just down the road from A Holiday.

Still looking at holding to the original schedule departing Virginia on Tuesday the 18th, stopping somewhere along the way, and arriving Maggie Valley roughly mid-day Wednesday.

Don’t matter how you get there, just get there! I really want to shake your hand :D

Rent a car that you can fill up with gas and don't worry about running out of electrons.
