Maggie valley June 2019

I have to do that too. In Missouri all bikes have to renew by the end of June.
Just out of interest, how does the system in the States work? Here in the UK you have to have bike or car checked over - MoT test - on the 3rd anniversary of the 1st date of registration and then yearly afterwards. There can be 'breaks' in this process by signing the vehicle off road but a new MoT test has to carried out if the vehicle is once again to be used on the public highway.

@Grumpy Ole Codger If it's not covered by the Constitution, nor enshrined in Federal law (applicable to all states) then each state decides their own.

Here in Virginia, it's annual, whether you need it or not. At least for bikes it's not onerous, as there is no emissions check, and all they do is walk around the bike while you're sitting on it, saying "Lights, high beam [nod]; left turn signal, other turn signal. [walk to the rear and as he passes] "Horn". In the back it's parking lights, both turn signals, and brake light. $12 and done.

Next door in Maryland, the inspection is only done when the vehicle is purchased -- waived for a new vehicle.

In less populated areas, there is no inspection at all.

"It depends"

How shall we say it, a little more lax than here officially! Fortunately there isn't an emissions test yet but otherwise it is meant to be a lot more comprehensive. This includes all suspension, brakes tested on a brake testing machine, all lights, steering, etc.. All depends on how well you know the examiner

They check my brakes too in this county Paul...

How many you bringing?
I'm heading out that morning also
maybe I can hook up with ya'll in Little Rock unless we go I-20
Probably 3 bikes and 3 or 4 people, we can meet and make the caravan bigger, @1K9 might want to ride with us as well

Thank you for the invitation Don Lupe. I will be pulling in a trailer from Monroe La. on Tuesday the 18th in the morning. I should be in MV in the mid afternoon. I hope there are other Peeps there to go have dinner and jack around and Ride on Thursday a few hours before the gang gathers in high numbers.

50 states 50 different requirements. In Missouri new bikes need no inspection for a couple years. Then yearly. A simple walk around lights horn signals a few bucks then on your way.
