And so it begins, cancellations and excuses. Reckon we'll whittle it down to 20 before it's over with. I know these roads might deter some that fear going over da mountain. The food will be par excellence. I get danged tired of saying " you'll be missed". You won't be. Most of us are riders. At least the less experienced show up and we appreciate them more. JM2CW.
Fortunately, in my case, these happenings have happened just enough, that the odds have caught up with me (or I caught up to the odds), and I have to make this one. I'm finally in a place where I'm not struggling to keep my job, I have supportive management, a true blessing of a supportive spouse on pillion, and children who can be expected to fend for themselves, at least for a little while.
I've made several events, and the people are treasures.

I had planned on making the last two R.A.A.'s with no luck at all. Work approves my vacation time but a week or two out they start crying about how much work has come in and how difficult it would be to meet turn around times and this and that. So we give in and get screwed. Not this time. Not planning on working ridiculous hours prior to start of vacation time either. Last run here in Oklahoma worked a 16 hour shift got a couple hours sleep and left for the run. That did not work out very well at all. This time am calling in sick the day before my vacation starts.
I hear you Sonny my boss is a real ass-hole but I just tell him straight up look I am gone for a week so just live with it whats he going to do --fire me
It ain't so much that they are ass-holes. They just have not looked up the definition of Management. Third time working at this place. Just under nine years this time. Another six years and be done with it. Either way this time am going with or without their blessings.
