If I were to use a muffler, such as one from a Hyabusa, would not the Auto Tune correctly trim my existing tune?

How long do these O2 sensors from Auto Tune last?

Has anyone removed the stock exhaust at he header pipe and simply ran a chrome exhaust pipe going straingt back and how loud is it? Does it require any mapping? The exhaust systems for this bike are really out of hand for what they are.

Not sure if this is exactly what you're talking about,
but it is the stock header with a harley drag pipe welded on
just behind the O2 sensor plug.
Something like this?

If this is what you're talking about,
I can tell ya, it'll drown out open piped harleys.
Let's just say, totally open, it's "noticable".
I put in a baffle from Big City Thunder Home of the Thunder Monster Baffles the QQ one.
it's still plenty loud, but gave me the back pressure I lost running it open.
Yes you'll need to remap it, I use a Dobeck,
but others use everything from a PC3 to PC5, to tuneboy or TuneECU.

I forget now how long they last I did ask the DynoJet techie and I recall it was a long time, yes the auto tune will adjust the fuel mixture to whatever system you put on there

I did this on my '05 Rocket - Auto tune helped, but never got it right. I wound up putting the TORs back on

Yeah the muffler needs to be designed to give correct flow and back presure in relation to the header, basically the Std header is restrictive and you add a a hi flowing muffler you would end up with insufficient back pressure. A hi flowing header system with a restrictive muffler system will work better than vice versa

Been workin' my butt off, and didn't have much to start with anyway.
That, and trying to keep the atheists in "check" on the other site.
Haven't heard from Sam in a long time.
Last I knew, he PM'ed me and sent me a pic of a prototype of my pipes,
asked if that's what I wanted, and about heat shields,
I PM'ed him back, and nothing since.
PM'ed him a few times, but never get a response.
Sent him a gift basket with some R3 "blue" goodies in it,
same stuff I had made in Red and Black for the rest of us,
but got him some 1 off blue stuff made to match his bike.
Not a word since.
Hope he's alright, but haven't seen a post by him in a LONG time.
Couple of months now I guess.
I guess my pipes are sittin on his shelf,
and he's busy making a living,
that or chasing migets.
So, I'm still running this single instead of my cool mini preds.
