You folks have been helping me for the last few months on this bike + on the 06 nightmare I handsome years ago. So I am going to try to pay back a portion. In 1974 I went to a BMW rally in Vermont. They were selling Real sheep skins for $30, to be used as seat covers. At that time I was still in the Navy with 3 kids, and $30 was a lot of money. When I got home I told a shipmate who was a Medic. His wife was a nurse and said it looked like the medical bed covers. They were used to prevent bed sores. She got a used one headed for the trash at the hospital. We cut up a couple of chunks shaped to fit our bikes. We found some elastic straps (Walmart) that were sowed to both sides of the pad. Put it on and tried it out. We were in Charleston S.C., where it gets hot and muggy. They made a big difference. we did not stick to the seat. Also, a big advantage was when the bike was standing in the sun the seat did not get hot. I have been using them ever since. You can get the Medical sheep skin at most medical supply stores. If they get dirty just throw in the laundry. Caught in the rain, shake most of the water out, or just hit on them. I have added a couple of things. First was some nonskid material used for kitchen cabinets, or took box drawers. stitch in about 4 places and they will work. Under that, I use an inflatable air cushion. I found Airhawk to be the best as the inner blatter is more heavy-duty. I have no idea how many mikes I have ridden on them. . Sure helps the butt. No I do not sell them. Have seen them for sale but not as good as the homemade ones. I have been teased by some of the 1% ers. that is until they put their hand on my seat after theirs on a hot sunny day. >>> That is about it for now. I have a few more tricks up my sleeve and will pass them along as time goes by. Like I said just my way of saying thanks
