Looks like i have worn the teeth and splines down on drive shaft and part that shaft sits in. I don't know if the individual part is available or is part of entire final drive assembly. Anybody know? Local dealer is unable to answer me at this time, and this part does not appear in drawing of what comes with final drive.
Bike has about 130,000 miles, and had just been subjected to about 130 mph ride.
It is also suffering high idle problems which i haven't been able to resolve by cleaning camshaft position sensor.

I ATTACHED A PICTURE OF SPECIFIC PART I AM LOOKING FOR

Not sure, but that's the connect that needs to be greased at least every 10,000 miles, or whenever you change rear tires, with good moly grease.

Thanks but not the part I'm looking for. That's the drive shaft part #. I already have a spare shaft. Looking for the part where the drive shaft inserts in that is attached to final drive assembly.

Not available separately.

Complete final drive unit is relatively cheap, $6-700???

I change rear tire every 50,000 miles and have never greased the drive shaft, only the final drive bearings. I'm lucky it lasted 130,000 miles I guess.

Yes that's good mileage, must be a car tire guy. years ago when everyone started greasing the drive shaft splines at every wheel change it was noted the people running car tires should at least do it once a year. anyway it takes 10,000 lbs of force to remove and install that coupling you hope to find. That's the easy part and removal is not so bad as you do not have to support the pinion gear. Now assembly is where it gets hard as you have to disassemble the bevel box so you can get support under the pinion nose to press the new coupling on. (this way no pressure is exerted on the case casting. Sorry to say but you need to pick up a used one in good shape or spring for a new one.
This one from the pictures looks good

Here is a 06 with only 10,000 miles verses the 07 above which has a skosh bit over 20,000

You often get a few of those final drives on ebay for a few hundred with low klms. Every time a bike is written off the final drive is usually good so they must be piling up somewhere.
