Looking for a good starting point tune please

He has one on this post I believe. Like third tune down. You can see at the top where he has said he updated that particular CES Ramair tune November 9th 2015

Tune for a stock R3 (Developed on a Roadster) | R3Owners
Looking at CES_Ramair_V2, it seems pretty rich at the top end. However, I see the F-L switch is set to 3% throttle at over 2000 rpm. So, it jumps to the main fuel tables at low TP, relying on TP and RPM to set the fuel. This eliminates the sensitivity you get from large changes in manifold pressure with small changes in TP at low TP in the L tables. I think this is a mistake. The PCV will trim the fuel regardless what the ECU is doing to determine the fuel.

Might be getting a little over my knowledge level here lol. Bottom line is I'll probably never find a tuner for it around here in the middle of Michigan. I'm half tempted to just take the pcv/at off (I don't believe Claviger uses a pcv/at) and run that Claviger tuneecu tune for no other reason than I don't know what else to do. Or just run that tune with the pcv/at and see how it goes. Really don't know.

Good idea to call Carpenter. I believe they use Tuneboy for tuning. They could flash your ECU if you send it to them or if you care to spend $500 on the Tuneboy program, Carpenter could send (sell) you a tune for their exhaust + Ramair if they have one.

Please don't do anything rash like remove the PCV. Some questions, but first, how is the bike running now?

1) If you have autotune, you should also have the wide band O2 sensor. Do you?

2) If you do, is autotune turned on? If so, have you ever committed the trims? You can't load the Claviger tune if the PCV contains non-zero trims. If autotune is on, you should be able to read the trims it has developed.

3) Have you connected to the PCV to read the map in it? You can always save that map and replace it with zeros (zero map). In that case it wouldn't be doing anything.

4) Have you connected with TuneECU and read the map in the ECU? What is it? You should upload it and save it. Then you can load the Claviger tune and see how it works, assuming there is a zero map in the PCV.

You basically have three options then.

1st I would add 5% fuel to the Claviger tune for safety and let the auto tune pull it out if needed.

2nd get a hold of Bob and see what he can do for you for a base tune in the ecu and my bet is he has a PCV map for the stock bike with his pipe as he did do Wild Bills bike. It will be with no Baffle.

3rd dump a claviger tune the same way 5 % rich for safety and find a local tuner with a dynojet and fine tune her in for your set up.

Oh and if my memory is right you are correct Claviger did not use a auto tune he used a innovate wide ban O2 system to tweak his in.

This can also be done with the new tune boy as it comes merged in WiFi with a innovate system. So it will do auto tune also. I think it is around 500 bucks and with the full blown system you will get a map specified for your ecu. Again like tune ecu there is not many tune boy tuners out there either.

First of all, thank you everybody for your help. I very much appreciate it.

As soon as I figure out how to add 5% fuel to Clavigers tune (Warp9.9's first option) I think that is what I will do lol. Where is a carburetor when I need one! At least I understand those . I think Monday I will call Carpenter and see where that gets me also. I really need to educate myself with this ECU tuning I guess and get out of the stoneage. Really like how I can use that Tuneecu with my phone, pretty cool stuff.

Since I could not find the tune why not e-mail it to me and I will bump the fuel up 5% for you.
