Long Haul Seat with Rider Backrest

This is the seat I have and as far as I recall Jim, it's the one you have. It's not a gel seat though. There is/was a dual gel seat but it had a slightly different shape, smaller pillion seat and no back rest as I recall.
The long haul seat from the Touring will not fit a Roadster.

Thank You everyone for the help on this. One last questions, can someone tell me why the long haul for the R3T will not fit the R3R. I understand the new long haul comes in two pieces, the rider bucket and the passenger. Not having access to the touring bike I cannot figure out why the seat shouldn't fit the roadster.

Thanks in advance for the help.

From what I understand the touring seat is not one of those click seats you can use with the key. You need to install 3 bolts to get the seat installed that's why it won't fit.

The long haul and the classic are the same seat - with the exception that the classic doesn't have the precut hole for the backrest. Nice seats but it will lower your seating position on a roadster to the classic height and you may not like the difference if you are longer legged like myself.... that's why I have a classic listed for sale in the forums here.

I actually do need to have a lowered seat as I have short legs! I will message you. I want the seat.

I've just bough a secondhand Classic seat but it doesn't quite fit straight on my 2010 Roadster. The rear separate pillion mounting bracket is about 10mm too long , so the "spike" for the click-on seat catch is 10mm too far back for the seat hole. I'm about to re-drill the 3 front holes for the allen screw fixings to the mudguard, with some spacer washers, to bring it into line then should work OK.
No idea why there's this 10mm difference, but there it is.
The rider part front mounting spike is correctly placed, and without the rear bracket the Classic seat sits in place end clicks into place fine, but as soon as the rear bracket is fixed it won't fit!

And yes the rider's position is a bit lower, but the pillion is about the same so my wife can see over my shoulders better. Roll on better weather to ride in!

I know T.C. Runs these 1 piece seats with no back spike mount. Just clips it on to the front mount and it sits on the guard at the back and doesn't move. I've ridden with him with Catherine on the back and there were no complaints.

Never bothered with the back lock/clip. Only time it's loose and moves around is when no-ones sitting on the seat. I've got a Roadster and a Classic seat I use .. never had a problem with either of them.
