Koso tachometer

Hans sorry you have not fitted the tacho i have looked into the Garmin unit and it seems a good idea if a little expensive ,i am going to keep looking into a tacho for the R3T so keep an eye on the posts.
paul

Not that expensive considering what you get.
If you already have the GPS thats a bonus..
a regular tach will cost $200-300 anyways

Called the GPS shop this morning where I have bought my Zumo 660 about the Nuvi and Ecoroute:

Well respected company which also has a big forum, technical service etc, etc.
They simply adviced me not to install a Nuvi on a Bike:

1: It is not waterproof.
2: Not chockproof, they got back severall Nuvi's in Time which broke down because of the chocks it gets on the Bike.

The Ecoroute works fantistic they said.

Garmin Nuvi

Never had a problem with mine.
When it rains, I put it away or put a clear baggie over it.
It went thru some heavy real rainstorms when I did a ride to Canada's east coast a couple of years ago.
The vibration might be a problem if you ride off road or on a Harley paint shaker,
but our Rockets are very smooth riding bikes.
I love my Nuvi, I use it in my car too when I am not on the bike.

I agree what you say:
For the Money you get a whole system including the GPS.
If it breaks you can Always use the warranty. You do not have to say it is used on a Bike.
I will surtainly have a look at it.
If you used it already a long Time on the Rocket it helds better then the GPS shop says.

Hans the normal rocket one is wired into the ECU and the better Rocket does not have an output for this ,The one i put on mine was run from the spark plug and did not work well ,you can change some of the bits inside but that is something i can not do.

Macrider thanks for the info
