Koso tachometer

Hi ballyono a quick question where are you going to wire it into ,i have looked at the instruction and it seems to go to the ecu tacho outlet? the tourer does not have this ?

I must say I do not have a clue. Normally a friendly dealer close to my work puts the extra's on. He does not bother if he supplied them or not.
The seller told me the Koso Tachometer will work on the touring.
If it doesn't I will send it back.
Hopefully you are wrong

Any other technicians who can check this?

Hans i hope i am wrong to as i have been looking for a tacho for two years now.The one i have connects to a spark plug lead ,it can run on 2,3,4,5,6,78, cylinders but have never been able to get it to work right it only goes up to 1000 rpm when the bike is reving at 4-5 rpm .
please keep us posted as it will be interesting to see if it works OK

Tach GPS Ecoroute.

This is what I ended up using. It plugs directly into the bike ODBII plug and gives me very accurate RPM readings , as well as readings of everything else.
I originally wanted to buy a tach too, but after reading about the problems and failures of others here to make them work I went this route.

Hi Macrider that is an intresting answer to the problem have read the other thread and will look into it .
Thanks

Guys,

received the Koso today as well the Housing:

The Meter itself is ok.
Do not like the Hausing, does not look good at all: to Big.
Will send everything back.

Darn, now we don't know if it fits the touring. Does it look like it is useable without the housing?

The Meter itself is not that big but looks a little "nude" and off course it has no chrome hausing. You will also see the Bolts underneath.
The Hausing looked very Good on the picture but again if you put it on the Bike it looks like an ugly big chrome, thick, short Banana on the Handle bar.
I have the Gipro hausing on the bars ( MF Cycles in Germany) which is really a very nice piece of work.
Beside the Gipro the Koso hausing looks awfull.

Sorry to bother you Guys with this sh....

Hans sorry you have not fitted the tacho i have looked into the Garmin unit and it seems a good idea if a little expensive ,i am going to keep looking into a tacho for the R3T so keep an eye on the posts.

Paul,

What about the Tachometer which is used on the normal Rocket?
This should work....??

In the manual from the Koso I aslo saw something about a wire on a spark plug.

Maybe this only works on Flintstone Bikes but not on our Rocket

I will send the stuff back and will keep a close look on the Forum.

Thanks for the replies etc.
