Keyless Ignition Mod HOW TO WITH PICS

Josey, the only thing I can see that might happen is that if you loose the remote while you are riding. You cannot turn the bike off even with the key. At least thats the way mine is. If you have yours set up different please let me know. I really like using the remote over the key.

Has anyone decided to do this yet or is it a repair more than a modification, or are you waiting to see if it melts down on me :)
i wired mine in last weekend works like a charm, i just need to remember to bring my key so i can fill up the tank

OOOHHH wouldn't you feel silly if that were to happen 200 miles from home?

"ring-ring... hello Honey? .... uh, could you bring me a key?"

That would suck. :(

I reckon that I had better plan for MYSELF. Seems that Josey will ride alone again, and very soon. It's better that way, stop and piss when and where I want to. Dog Tags style for key and fob?
i ride alone all the time, the guys i used to ride with cant keep up , nothing against them they just like to cruise mainly from bar to bar ,, i want to ride , not put the kickstand down every five miles or less , and none of them have a rocket

I finished my keyless ignition yesterday and it works great.
I would like to add a couple of things that I noticed.
My bike is a 2005 standard and the wire colors are a little different.
Mine were: blue/ white, orange(not used), green/orange, green/blue, yellow, red/orange, red/blue.
also under the tank be careful where you mount the relay and reciever because there is limited space for the bottom of the tank to clear. Just take your time and try different places.

Noob here

Hi from Las Vegas,
Just bought my R3 a couple days ago and have been perusing dif threads and have developed quite the to-do list...the keyless mod being one of them. You'll hafta excuse me, bit of a NOOB n this my first post. I was looking at the beginning of the thread and I can see where Josey says the "how to" is up, but I can see any actual pics or walk thru...am I missing something? Thnks

Sorry about that. In a fit of rage I went through a while back and started deleting every post that I had ever put up due to a perceived threat from an un named individual here. I will put the pics back up and try to leave it for posterity:eek:. It works great, several of us had them at RAA VI and they worked flawlessly in all weather conditions.
