Just bought my second Rocket III and think I stole it

Wish that sort of stuff happened here - But here the bank'd sell it to a dealer. The rest is usury.

Welcome from Sunny Spain.

Ok that looks to be a 09 standard with the classic floor board set up. Of course it could be a Classic with a new set of phantom black tins. One thing for sure is its not a Roadster. As stated above they never came out untill 2010. I'd be curious as to what title says. Do not woory about engine colors as the black engines started in 06 and then in 07 triumph pushed the classic tourer to use up the rest of the silver motors. By 08 they all had black motors. Now not to leave them out but the R3T started in 08 and looks wise has not changed much at all. In fact for some reason triumph still has color on them.

I sent the title in first day, but when it comes back I will see if it has a model designation.

You can always have your local dealer run the vin number they will be able to even tell you what color it had on the build. Anyway if you decide you don't like the floor board set up. Let me know I have two sets of standard peg rails.

Well thank you Michael. Our local VFW post is a good bunch. The oldest member of our VFW Rider's Group is 95 and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a combat engineer.

I'd have jumped on that one too. I can't imagine with that low miles you'd experience any issue. It was still on the first oil change and the engines are pretty bullet proof. If it sat a long time with ethanol gas in it you might have some gunked up injectors. If so, you might consider the Seafoam aerosol injector cleaner. Works great and with a Rocket because it's very easy to introduce the stuff into the throttle bodies.

With that said, the 09 Touring I purchased from a friend a last year, with about 6800 miles on it as I recall, was just fine even after sitting in my friend's garage for several years. I rode it home, filled the tank with non-ethanol fuel and a good shot of Seafoam and she ran like a scalded ape.

The front tire had to be replaced but the rear is fine. As a precaution, I'll replace it in the spring. I also took mine to the dealer in Seattle to have all fluids replaced with the exception of the oil, which I changed about the second day I had it. It didn't seem to need it but with 9 year old brake fluid and coolant I thought it was probably the prudent thing to do.

It's funny but I didn't know about us having a media page so wasn't sure what you meant by it. I found it and your new torque monster definitely looks good. I will post some pics on mine.

I am a big fan of boards as I love the ability to move my feet around on the highway. But, I do thank you for the offer. About the only change I may make down the road is if I can find a bargain on one of those Fleetliner Corbin fairings for the dual headlight rocket. Coming off older Goldwings I miss some of the wind protection.

Sounds like you got a deal ! Here is one I should have bought last summer. My rocket was down with a hosed trans. Needed a bike to ride. This one had had third gear problems but had been repaired. The problems with mine were caused by poor repair work before I bought it. I didn't want to take a chance that some idiot fixed this one also. Bought a Valkyrie instead. Wish I would have bought this one now

That's a good looking bike for sure. And cheap!
