Any suggestions for leaky Jardines Worst leak is cylinder closest to seat (HOT!!)

Called my dealer and spoke with the tech recommended checking nuts. They were a little loose tightened down to spec 19 Nm helped out two of the three but the one closest to my leg still leaks pretty good.

My dealer is 4 hours away so I don't feel like making that drive unless I have to..

Thanks

George,

One of the other guys reminded me to make sure the acorn nuts were not bottoming out before they were really getting tight. I ended up using one flat washer and one lock washer. Who ever the other member was that reminded me said he used 3 washers.

Yeah that was me. I didn't like the stack of washers so I replaced the acorn nuts with regular ones.

I found that it took several heat cycles before the torque settings would hold. I'd suggest swapping out the nuts and then checking the torque next morning after a ride, when the bike is completely cold, until the torque setting holds.

Some have also doubled up on the copper header gaskets. I can't remember if I did that or not.. lol Be careful torquing down, the flanges can bend. I have one that is slightly bent, but hasn't caused me a problem.

I had to grind down the header so that it sat flush prior to bolting down..used new gaskets and torqued them tight ..started in middle and then outside..finger tight first, then alternated with wrench before torqueing..good luck!
