[Jan 8, 2014] I 10 road trip to the Keys. (I 10 Road Trip)

Nope. I plan on heading south on I35 I45 to your neck of the woods in order to take advantage of the more southern latitudes. I will be taking I 10 the whole way to FL. It will be a week earlier though. I was mistaken about the expo dates. Looks like I will be heading out on Friday the 10th of January. We can meet up wherever you like.

Steel, this looks like it fits your schedule. Sounds like more fun'sa brewing.

How many Rockets would it take to qualify as a RAA event? This would be the first "winter" RAA.
As long as I can be home by midnight on the 15th so I can head back to work. Hell Yeah count me in!!!

Maybe we can gather the masses of R3 owners and road trippers in Ft Lauderdale for a day and night either before or after we ride the bridges to Key West.

If that's going to be the plan, then maybe Magnmm and I can put our heads together and think of some places to eat/drink and give you some ideas of hotels/motels.

Magnmm - I'm thinking a visit to Cafe 27 might be in order - or maybe Doughboys (GREAT Pizza) on the 17th Street Causeway.

Here's Cafe 27s Facebook photo page:

What's the fishing like in Florida in the winter? I was thinking about strapping a fly rod on the bike for this trip...

Fishing's good year 'round in the Keys.
Leave your fly rod home and go out for a few hours on a party boat.
They'll provide gear and you will catch fish.

I'm with Stripes and Ksquared. We can putz around Ft. Lauderdale a while. Cafe 27 is a good stop although my Rocket doesn't really fit in there. Holiday Park is a good stop. Alabama Jacks in the upper keys is a good pit stop. As soon as we see some firm dates, we can start the planning. Do not bring fly rod and reel. Need to know the back country and have a flats boat. Party boat for fishing and snorkeling in John Pennekamp state park is a good time.

Magnmm: Holiday Park & Cafe 27 could be done a few total hours, one being right across the street from the other.

I'm also thinking that we could go out on Alligator Alley to Snake Road, then take a ride up to the Billie Swamp area for airboat rides and some gator gawking.

i'm in dallas right now, will be checking out the route on the way home starting 12/16ish... not on the bike, in the mobile office... http://goo.gl/maps/KtVjO
