I have a question, so if this Storm gets tuned will it still gain 35+ hp like Gen1 R3R AND GT rockets? or is it possible that Storm has been tuned from factory already to the max?

So it's the same bike with a little engine tweak and cosmetic differences...........yawn.

Interesting that the MSN article says that about 18,000 units of the 2.5 engined model have been sold so far.....

The most significant improvement could well be the lighter wheels.
Having a lighter rear wheel should improve the harshness of the rear end, and generally help with turn in and overall handling.

I just like how much the Rocket has increased in price here in the ~4 years since it landed. To quote an article on the R and GT pricing "destined to hit Aussie showrooms in the first quarter of 2020 from $29,990 ride away and $30,900 ride away respectively". I just priced up a Storm R with the same options as my bike - $42,163.97 ride away! Eff me!

Also looks of new wheels is nice.
Tires are Metzeler Cruisetec. Are the tires advanced than others?

From what I've learned so far, I understand them to be a suitable replacement for the Avon Cobra Chromes' due to Avon's being bought out by a foreign concern and production has moved. I think therefore, that Triumph needed to find a new supplier as a result.
Only time will tell if the new Metzelers' are up to the task.

...if you take the UK price of these new Gt's and convert it NZ dollars then its in the NZ50k bracket...then add 'on road costs' of another grand and its getting up there!...My GT has a Penner tune in it but not sure how many ponies i have until i put it on a dyno but whatever the HP is on mine i like it. I wont be forking out more dollars just to get a different color...different rims and tyres and maybe...just maybe...a few more horses.
I think Triumph could have offered us more in this new revised model as it's an 'Anniversary' bike being 21 years since the Rocket's inception....but that's just me.

I've watched the latest presentation promo video by Triumph a few times, which gives the opportunity to really see the new colour scheme looks and I have to say that I really like the aesthetics. I can imagine that they will look very desirable in the showroom.

On face value, I think they have improved the appearance of the bike mainly due to the fact that the colour scheme makes the bike look more compact and less fussy.

However...... I can't help thinking that with everything being in mat black they will show wear and tear faster than the previous year models.
Particularly the exhaust, although I suppose it can be re-painted every couple of years.

While on the subject of the exhaust..... Visually, I think the black exhaust is a backward step because the style of the exhaust is a big part of the bike's unique visual appeal and now they have blacked it out. It also looks a bit cheap IMHO.

The lighter wheels offer biggest improvement (potentially). Worth having a test ride in order to compare/evaluate ride and handling, me thinks.

My own personal conclusion:
If I was looking to buy a Rocket 3 now, I think I would go for the new model over the previous model. Stand the two models side by side in the showroom and the new colour schemes will tip the balance in favour of the new model. It looks leaner, cleaner & meaner.
That said, I already have a Rocket 3 and the changes aren't anywhere near enough to make me want to pay to change.
