Hi Brad, welcome to the horde from Northern Michigan. I have a 2013 R3T with 42,000 miles on it. We have guys with over 100,000 on there Rockets. Do not let mileage with this engine scare you, just keep it properly maintained.

As far as size goes, not an issue either. I am 5-7 and 185. No problems handling her if I am smart and I live half a mile down a gravel road. I did lower mine with Hagan shocks and spring about an inch since I am so dam short :D:D:D Have had to stop next to the top of an apex in a curve due to construction without issue. Actually several times up and around the curve.

I assumed the Rocket engine would have Goldwing duration, but I've been uncertain.

Welcome to the site from new Jersey, Brad.

I'm 50 years in the saddle and purchased my R3 6 seasons ago. It took me about 2-3 months to fully understand the performance envelope and handling characteristics of this beast. Do the same and you'll enjoy yours as much as I do mine!

BTW, I'm just a smidge under 5'10", 180-185 lbs and I've never really encountered any problem with moving or controlling this bike that I haven't experienced with others.

Let this be your musical mantra... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PUMKPaIHY4

Hi Tirawley

Rockets are heavy bikes and low speed maneuvering (pushing it round the garage mainly) can be difficult. But the second you get them past crawling speed they simply shed their weight. I've ridden a few lighter bikes that feel much heavier especially in their cornering and general handling. They are very well thought out bikes.

I've lost control of mine twice on the move, once was daydreaming and ran off the road, down a bank and into some trees, and once at about 100kph (60mph) when the council had resealed over the peak of a hill, on a curve without roadsigns:thumbsdown: (that time I think a bit of poo came out). When they do get out of hand they are unmanageable but pretty much any big cruiser is.

At the end of the day these things handle and move better than they have any right too. Get one, you will not be disappointed

WELL stated!
I too mangled my left leg and ankle after daydreaming while at 25mph in a 15 mph curve.
Threw it over and the front wheel washed out on rumble strips carved into the center line.

Lol..I'll definitely have to take my time but I'm sure it wouldhelp to have your experience

Yeah..I could if the dealer didn't just email me that the Touring model he had just sold..I emailed him like a week ago, so there's no excuse for that.

Dude, that totally sucks. No excuse for selling a bike out from under you, when he knew he was getting the sale. Bad form!
