I'm sure this has been discussed, but has anyone upgraded / retuned their Touring in DC, MD, VA?

D&D Imports in Norfolk. Bryan is about 3 hours away from DC he has tune ecu and a dyno.

Don't know much about this - is it Tune ECU or Commander? If so, which is safer, more reliable, to get most power with least chance of harm to engine?

Tune ecu is a program that you can remap your ecu directly. Commander is a piggyback system from what i understand (never used it). I used tune ecu and my cell phone to destrict my r3t. Tune came from powertripp and tweeked by hanso

It was simple or you need a dyno to do it right?

You dont need a dyno to do it. But without the dyno its not hard data. But destricting the r3t with the tune ecu made a big difference for me that i could feel when riding. But i do not have a before and after. The dyno would provide hard data.

Gotcha! Thanks.

Rich, I did mine at Paul's house (@Joesmoe). This is the derestricting tune with decal popping removed. Paul is only a 30 minute ride from your place, maybe less...

And it gave you more power with no downsides? I assume TORS are not a problem? I've been hesitant because I had a 2008 lemon and traded in for this 2014, which has been running beautifully after a few adjustments early on. Just don't want trouble, but more power is always welcome.

The down side is less miles per tank. On average, I get 12-15 miles less now' except when I am all highway. Then it is about the same. City commutes must have too many WOT moments on Brahma.

The Decel popping I had after the Triumph TORS tune has gone away and I can feel more get-up-and-go. I have not put it on a dyno ever, but the seat of my pants tells me it is improved.
