Ignition key relocation

Hi Mittzy,

Would I be right in saying you no longer use the steering lock also, do you have an alarm on the beast, looks great I would be very keen on doing this to my 2011 roadster to, I know there is a plug somwhere under tha tank to get an alarm in is that right?

G'day Adam,
Yep I no longer use the steering lock, didn't really use it before either. No alarm either. Don't know of the plug for alarm - someone would now.

Good thinking and well sorted. I too want to relocate mine, unfortunately I'm running the 04 R3 .The plugs are different is that right. ? do you know where to find the 04 style plugs?

If the upgrade is done the early flat connectors are replaced with the later Sumitomo type that Mittzy has.
When I relocate the ignition switch I will also change out the main harness bike connectors to the later connector as mine still has flat connector.

Have sourced the plugs and wire. Also made up a loom and done the relocation. Will post photos etc soon

where did you find the plugs?

I would want my key by the accessories plug in front of left side cover. Can you make the pigtail longer...

Just looking at this post again... that is were I relocated mine to... see earlier posts. 450mm long is the lenght I made mine and it is a bit generous.
