Hello,

Today I went for ride, but last ride I fell some problem.

When I started bike, idle speed go to 2000-2100 rpm....so ok.... motor was cold. But I went about 5mil a idle speed was still about 2000rpm. After I stop on lights, idle speed go down to normal 900.

But today (10°C heavy rain) I went for long ride, and sometimes idle speed go to normal 900, sometimes still 2000rpm.
When I press clutch rpm go up to 2000-2100rpm. But motor was hot, on lights fan was running.

So where to find problem? I read topic about idle speed, so reset something in Tuen ECU???

Thanks for advise.

PS-Sorry about english.

First a simple thing to do

Turn on the ingnition 10 second
Turn it off
Turn it on again
Start the bike
This should reset your tps

If it's didn't change anything
Disconnect the batteries
And check all connecter

Put everything back together
Reconnect the batterie

You should get a engine light ( code)
If so disconnect the batterie - neg -
Wait 10 sec and reconnect
The code should go away by it self

Needs a new TPS ( Throttle position sensor)The first sign of it going bad is that high idle.. next thing the fuelling can go all wrong ( as the ECU gets the fuel required for the actual revs all wrong)

I find this so interesting. After going crazy trying to reset my idle speed and having the check engine light stay on regardless of its position...playing for 1/2 hour at least...
I have to admit that we simply took off the TPS, turned the idle stop screw out 1/16th turn and replaced the TPS with no known orientation. I called Bob Carpenter in utter frustration. He said, "Disconnect the negative battery lead, wait a minute and reconnect"....which I did. light off....bike functions perfectly. Idle is 950-1000 and runs like a bear!
My question is...just because my idiotic reset worked...could there still be a TPS problem? So many posts about ISCV resets and voltage checks for the TPS which is why I'm asking.
HA...I find this post so funny!

I was having the same idle problem, sometimes it would be ok and other times it would idle at 2000 rpm, I have just replaced the primary TPS and so far it has been fine.

classic symptons you have there..mine did the same exact thing..a new TPS fixed it right up..must be adjusted right though..here's the how to..pay special attention to post #13..thank you bishop..

thank you, I printed it and after work I will check if TPS broken.

Hello yesterday after MS Hockey i check TPS with Tune ECU.

So it was interesting.

1 - Conneted Wag and click on adjust TPS:

I was little shock...I see 0,73V not 0,6V. So I check TPS on bike, just little "tug" cable to TPS and immediately I heard noise bzzzzzzz of trottle position "thing".
So checked Tune ECU a I saw this: - now 0,62V

SO I tried to set up, but i didn´t have short T25. My T25 was long, today I will try with lithle short T25 imbus and 8mm key toll.

But with this setting without adjusting, only with little "tug" cable iddle speed was good, rpm fall up and down when I hit the gas. SO maybe some elektric problem?

Can I check cable to TPS? Or it´s not connected to TPS? I think put do cable from TPS, clean "connector" or it´s hard-boiled together?

Thanks to all!

Love the use of 'Hard-boiled' :spitcoffee: .Sound like it's definately TPS .Pulling the wires might be( must be) rotating the TPS enough to adjust the voltage reading. Get the proper Torx key & adjust according to the tune ecu & see if it remains good. If so , all good. If not, change to a new TPS.
