Warmed it up, and backed it out a half. The idle was very low so closed it back down 1/4 turn and let it continue to get hot. Seems to be behaving. Hope to take it out tomorrow to street test.

w/o the stepper motor you are going to have to let it warm up so it will idle correct.
when i was playing with the idle screw and backing it off it did not seem to affect the idle speed (when warm) that much so i just kept backing it off 1/4 turn at a time until it stopped the 18-2000 rpm crap.

I added this to mine today for easy idle adjustment with no stepper motor. Something I noticed today, changing the position of the secondary butterfly position sensor, affects the idle speed. I removed the secondary butterflies years ago and set them to 100% open. Yet moving to sensor changes the idle speed. It must affect the feeling somewhat. That could be the missing link in solving the high idle speed problem. I have given up.

That bike has a mind of its own (ecu) and is not easy to work with i gave up on making a two step adjuster.
if you have the idle screw set to high it will definitely cause a high idle when it gets warm that was one of the problems i ran into.
what i do is put a .025 washer in there and run it for a while when it starts to run to fast i take out the washer and it idles great.
i still have the 2nd throttle plates and they are set with the original setting below 3500 and wide open above 3500
that's interesting that the 2nd changes the idle
